New Year right around the corner.

Clarify your definite purpose and make a plan to bring the future into the present by setting a series of consecutive goals.  Your strategy will be how you can best execute your plan. Work one-day-at a-time and keep your goals short term so that you can see your progress and this will keep you motivated and on track.
You need  the deep desire to make your plan work; then the faith and belief that it can work; then to hold that
clear vision in your conciousness and see it working out step by step, without thoughts of doubt or disbelief.

Don't be in too much of a hurry because you  will become discouraged and that is counter-productive.  In life there is only the road to somewhere, and we are always on the way.  Be sure to enjoy the journey because that is your reward.  Couage does not always roar.  Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."  Better to wake up fresh the next day than to do toomuch and tire yourself to the point of frustration.

"Finish each day and be done with it.  You have done what you could.  Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.  Tomorrow is a new day.  You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." ~Emerson

Life goes on with or without you and it keeps coming at you so you need to take action in the moment.  There is only now when you can do something to change your situation for the better.  A successful life is one that is lived through understanding and pursuing one's own path, not chasing after the dreams of others.

Maintain your vision of what you are trying to create.  You are today where your thoughts have brought you.  You will be tomorrow where your thoughts will take you.  Remeber that a vision without a task is but a dream, a task without a vision is drudgery while a vision with a task are hope for a better future.  Make plans and take appropriate actions everyday and progress will be your reward.

Fail forward.  If at first you don't succeed, the experience will help you succeed the next time:

"Failure is the foundation of all success and the means by which it is achieved." ~Lao Tzu

Setbacks are simply evidence of a need for a change of tactics and a chance to learn.  If you want to be more successful, double your failure rate.

Everyman can be more than he is if he believes that what he can conceive, he can achieve with a plan of action and some interim goals to guide daily effort.  Acquire marketable skills and produce something to sell
Have some fun, make money and give back to your community.

The big secret is to have a vision of the future you want to create for yourself and your loved ones and then to
bring pieces of that vision to be created  by your actions and choices now. Remember today is it all your power of action is in the now. All we get is a glimmer.  It is up to us to construct our own story or vision.  With a definite purpose in mind we can ask ourselves, "What good shall I do this day?" and each evening we can review, "What good have I done this day?" in the same way Ben Franklin wrote in his daily journal.

You will need to employ self-mamgement which refers to methods, skills and strategies by which individuals can effectively direct thier own activities toward the achievement of objectives.  These include goal stting, planning, scheduling, task tracking, self-evaluation, self-intervention, and self-development. You are a person with intelligence and you will find a solution to problems and obstacles slowing your proress on the road to a more balanced and productive lifestyle.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.  Think in positive terms and you will get positive
results.  We become what we think about most and that should be your definite purpose and plans and goals to achieve it.  "Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow." says Albert Einstein and it is good advice.  Do not wait because the time will never be "just right".  Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.  But you cannot succeed if you do not have a definite purpose to work to create and goals to provide guidance and direction. Wite your goals on paper and refer to them regularly.

A good prayer is offered by Napolean Hill:
Divine Providence, I ask not for more riches but for more widom with which to accept and use wisely the riches I was given at birth in the form of the power to direct my mind to ends of my own choice.

Determine clearly what you want from life and that is your intention.  We are urged to live with intention by
self-help gurus.  For instance, China has concluded that clean-tech is the next great Global Industry and it is the intention of Chinese industry leaders to dominate this new Global Industry and to thereby employ and enrich the Chinese Economy.  Canada's intention will be to compete for a slice of the gigantic pie.

Find out what you're good at and do it intentionally.  Everyone has an interest that can be turned into a skill of value to that person and to society. Great careers are made out of activities we love. Maybe you are interested in clean, renewable solar energy and can begin now to educate yourself and gain some marketable skills to exploit your passion for the Environment.  How you find pleasure in life is one of the key determinants of health and success.

Three important choices you can make everyday are:
-to act with energy
-to act with a purpose and determination
-to act with principle in your means of attaining your goals.

Aristotle believed in the absolute freedom of individual choice.  Human nature involves, for everyone, a capacity for forming habits; but the habits that a particular individual forms depend on that individual's culture and repeated personal choices.  All humans want "happiness"; an active, engaged realization of thier innate capacities, but this goal can be achieved in a multiplicity of ways.

There is no wealth but life and your time is both precious and yours and you need to take resposibility to live a
productive and happy life.  Goethe said, "Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and putting one's thoughts into
action is the most difficult thing of all. But great things are done by a series of small things brought together.

Be careful in your planning and dilligent in working the plans you make.  Define your goals, manage your time, track your progress and start immediately because there is power in action.  Play to your strengths by doing what you do well and pay someone else to do the rest because we can best succeed this way.  What do we need to do?  How do we get it done?  You decide the most capable hands for each task.  Time must be managed just like money so do not invest time on irrelevant details that can be better handled by your helper.  Frequently, stop and ask yourself if you are spending your time on the right things.

"Deer hunter waste not your arrow on the rabbit", says Chinese folk wisdom.

"Generate a useful and profitable idea with a clear detailed vision; giving it a compelling set of benefits and features, and telling the story of its future potential in an exciting and credible way." is Guy Kawasaki's advice.
