A wise observer of men said, "He's turned his life around. He used to be depressed and miserable. Now he's miserable and depressed." Are you going around in circles? Spinning your wheels? Have you gone to a lot of effort to make improvements to your lifestyle without lasting success? This typifies most resolutions because we do not take a serious and systematic approach in setting down clear objectives. Vague ideas like "eat healthier and do some exercise" are not specific enough goals to allow you to make a plan of action. We have no system of follow-up and measurement to see if we are making the gains we want. We muddle along with our vague desires until some other disraction gains our attention. We need reminders of our goals to stay on track to them.
