A young wrestler from Long Beach who has no legs is captivating audiences with his moves on the mat.
Isaiah
Bird, 6, was born with a defect that left him without legs. His
personal battles don't end there: he lives in a shelter at a Glen Cove
Church with his mother and 1-year-old brother, and his family can't
afford a wheelchair so Isaiah gets around on his hands.
Impressed with Isaiah's strength, coach Miguel Rodriguez suggested he give wrestling a shot.
"Wrestling is a sport where you don't really need legs to be an athlete," says Rodriguez.
Isaiah won so many matches this year that he qualified for the state tournament.
